Introduction
Awaaz Nepal is a non-profitable, non political, non-governmental social organization established in 2009 A.D. under the Nepal Social Organization Registration Act 1991 ( Regd. 1086-66/67).It is also registered with the Social Welfare Council (SWC)Nepal- Regd. no.28799. The organization was established by a group of committed youths for the integrated and sustained development in the field of public health, environmental issues, population, reproductive health and community development through continuous research and studies of the problems associated in these fields. In a country like Nepal which has very low literacy rate, public awareness plays an important role in improvement of the health status as well as in the improvement of the deteriorating environmental condition. It is an essence need that we must work together with variety of partners including governmental and nongovernmental organizations, research institutions, community groups, and the private sectors to attain our organizational goal. Social and economic development is not possible unless there are healthy citizens and the health is directly related with the prevailing environmental condition.
Awaaz Nepal is established with the vision of accepting every challenge as an opportunity to serve as well as a new area to work. Its mission is to improve Health and environmental problems through research, education and services. We are aware that every organization needs to shape and reshape its self so as to meet the existing and new challenges as well as to achieve its goal. We are motivated by spontaneous desire to work on public-concerned issues for the upliftment of our society and the nation.
Area of interest
Awaaz Nepal is basically concerned with the issues related to the health and environment. However, in total it covers a wide arena by exploring new problems that are either directly or indirectly related to health and environmental issues. Our major fields of work include the following.
• Family planning and Reproductive Health
• Researches related to Health and Environment
• Youth awareness program/Public awareness program
• Drug addiction, Rehabilitation
• HIV/AIDS
• Education
• Provide financial support to poor and needy people for the treatment.
Objectives
Awaaz Nepal is established with the following specific objectives.
• To aware people regarding environment, sanitation and health related issues.
• To mobilize camps in different part of the country to improve public health and environment as well as to support agricultural practice for its betterment.
• To provide Health care services in different part of the country.
• To manage research and field activities to meet the public health needs.
• To co-ordinate and manage various health programs with the vision of long term management of every aspects of health related issues.
• To recognize as well as to aware people of the hazards created by various human activities and to implement program to reduce the hazards.
• Provide sufficient training by identifying the income generating sources viz. community health, community forest etc. in participation with GOs, I/NGOs and various other organizations to support the livelihood and reduce unemployment.
• Provide better facility to the common people in collaboration with GOs, I/NGOs that meets with the objectives of our organization. All the activities will be done under the periphery of the existing laws.
• To organize and aware youths in the works of Nation Development.
• To prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections and care for those affected by them.
• To improve people's access to quality reproductive health services, especially safe, effective, and affordable family planning methods.
• To improve the health of women and children, especially those who live in resource-constrained settings.
• To prevent girl trafficking for forced prostitution.
• To support and encourage the disadvantaged communities to uplift their living standard through their participation in activities related to community health and socio-economic development and by strengthening and mobilizing community leaders and community groups and institutions.
• To provide financial support to poor and needy people for the treatment.
